Fifteen years on the floor taught Jeff two things: Pretoria East needs more real social dance, and lessons should not feel complicated or intimidating.
I started dancing at the age of 14, which means I have been involved in dancing for over 25 years. What began as a personal passion turned into a long-term commitment to both dancing and teaching.
My teaching journey started in Port Elizabeth, where I spent 4 years teaching Latin and Ballroom dancing at a studio. From there, I moved to Cape Town, continuing to teach for another 4 years, refining my approach and working with a wide range of students.
I then relocated to Johannesburg, where I ran my own studio in Benoni for 7 years. This is where I built strong experience in teaching complete beginners, couples, and social dancers who simply wanted to feel confident and comfortable on the floor.
Now based in Pretoria, I’ve had many people asking me why I am not teaching — and that’s exactly what led to the launch of Duits Met My Dansstudio.
The goal is simple: make dancing easy, enjoyable, and something you actually want to keep doing — not something that feels intimidating or overly technical.
